The Wall by any Other Name is Just Another Wall, Right?

How many times have our elected officials promised, but never delivered on the building of a border wall that would protect our people and our sovereignty? How many times have Democrats said that it’s too expensive and can be replaced with today’s technology at a cheaper price? and last but not least would be how many Americans understand that technology can be shut down with the flick of a switch?  Hmmm……  I think I’m beginning to understand why Democrats want technology over a physical wall!

Walls have worked throughout history, and even today ‘Wall’s have helped diffuse many conflicts that negotiations never could. Walls are a good thing, and like America’s border patrol do their job on an every day basis, unless of course their told otherwise by a President who had the transformation of America being his main goal, and accomplishing that by buying the votes of unvetted illegal immigrants and refugees in exchange for free services and financial support! They come to America without any form of ID or proof of citizenship as required by Federal Law, but still allowed to vote in ‘Blue States because these Blue States don’t have a requirement for anyone illegal or not illegal to have either an ID or proof of citizenship to vote, and allowed to vote often! Hmmm, I guess a physical ‘Wall’ can’t be instructed to stand down and not enforce the immigration laws of the land, and why all Americans should supporting the building of that big and beautiful ‘Wall!’

A wall by any other name is still just a wall, unless of course you have some alternative agenda where the simple presence of a wall causes this much concern and attention by members of both the far right and far left members of Congress. For the ‘Swamp’ to be so invested in the outcome of the border wall war should be showing the American people who want the wall, that something unknown to the American Public is going on, and without the Main Stream Media doing their job, we will never really know!

Americans generally want DACA children to have a path to citizenship, but not Amnesty, and for these poor and defenseless children/ grown adults to be the main focus of our elected officials should be troubling, especially when they are not really paying attention to the American People’s needs or mandate, but doing what they believe needs to be done without the approval from the American people!

I don’t know about you, but I’m getting more than just a little tired of hearing from the Liberal left that we are a land of immigrants, and because of that obligated to take in the worlds tired, poor, and huddled masses, yearning to breathe free, but I’m also very tired of having the taxpayer picking up the bill for all of these unvetted illegal immigrants and refugees when the country is $20 Trillion dollars in debt!

The truth of the matter is that we are a nation of immigrants, but there’s a big difference between yesterday’s immigrants compared to today’s, and that is yesterday’s came to America with only their shirt on their back looking to start a new life with new opportunities, where today’s illegals assume they have the same rights as legal citizens, are given food, shelter, healthcare, and stock options in exchange for their illegal vote! As Bob Dylan says, “Boy, the times they are a changing,” and so have the attitudes of our elected officials about making America first again!  ~~

After all is said and done though President Donald Trump will be able to order the construction of a wall on the Mexico border because of a 2006 law passed with the help of Democrats including Barack Obama, Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton.

The 2006 law authorized the construction of 700 miles of fencing along the southern border, as well as additional lights, cameras and sensors to enhance security. Although former President George W. Bush signed the measure into law, the Democrat-controlled Congress that took over a few months later ensured it would never be completed by means of an amendment to a 2008 spending bill.

The amendment removed an explicit requirement the wall be made of double-layer fencing, and gave the Department of Homeland Security authority to put in place less effective barriers, such as simple vehicle barriers that do not keep pedestrians out. As a result, Democrats were able to avoid a politically unpopular vote against the wall, and then turn around and quietly gut its construction. But Trump and Republicans in the new Congress now plan to use that law to ensure a proper wall is constructed.

Since the law was never actually repealed, the federal government is still authorized to build a substantial wall on the southern border. Congress doesn’t have to pass a new law to begin construction, and can instead package the funds necessary into a massive spending bill Democrats would have a politically hard time opposing. Trump may get a head start on the process by diverting other funds congressional leaders have indicated are available for the project, ensuring a snafu over the spending bill doesn’t hinder prompt construction of the wall!

But now ……

Ex-President Obama, Secretary Clinton, and Jeb Bush (remember him?) declared with one voice: America doesn’t need border walls. Meanwhile, around the rest of the Western world, walls are springing up in order to defend the sovereignty of nation states.

Walls aren’t a new phenomenon, as even CNN admits. But the rate at which they’re springing up is certainly unprecedented. At least 65 countries now have border walls or barriers, making this one of the few times in recent history where America has been “behind” on an issue.

I say America. I mean the U.S. political establishment, because we know according to new CNN polling (yeah, I know!) that at least 41 per cent of people are in favor of Mr. Trump’s long-touted wall being built. This ignores the “shy builders “: people who won’t tell pollsters they back the wall, but secretly do.

Now Britain is building a wall. Okay, it’s only a 4-meter high wall, but it’s a concrete wall nonetheless and its aim is clear: stop migrants attempting to enter the country illegally. The reason is simple: walls work. It just depends on what your aim is.

If you intend to have porous, or no borders, then don’t build a wall. If your intent is to secure your country and enforce the law of the land: you have to erect barriers. This is why Hillary Clinton herself was in favor of border fences as recently as 2006, still bragging about it in 2015. But clearly her marching orders changed.

This is the world the globalists have created with mass migration, endless wars, and even stupid drug policies.

HUNGARY’S WALL

HUNGARY BUILDS A WALL, CUTS ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION BY OVER 99 PER CENT!!

Hungary has slashed illegal immigration by over 99 per cent after rolling out a series of powerful border fences in response to the European migrant crisis, possibly providing a lesson as to the potential impact of constructing President Trump’s much-discussed southern wall in the U.S.

Speaking on the second anniversary of the government’s move to seal Hungary’s border with Serbia — which is also an external border for the European Union — Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s Chief Security Advisor, György Bakondi, announced that the fences have caused illegal immigration to collapse from 391,000 in 2015, to 18,236 in 2016, to just 1,184 in 2017.

ISRAEL’S WALL

Even the left-wing Slate magazine was forced to admit: “…the Israeli fence is very efficient. The number of fatalities from terror attacks within Israel dropped from more than 130 in 2003 to fewer than 25 in 2005. The number of bombings fell from dozens to fewer than 10”.

The country has barriers with the West Bank, Gaza, and Egypt, and is now constructing a barrier with Jordan.

A general view shows a section of Israel’s controversial separation wall near Qalandia crossing between the West Bank city of Ramallah and Israel-annexed east Jerusalem on July 28, 2016. The tarmac of the former Atarot airport, which has been closed to civilian traffic since the breakout of the second Palestinian intifada (uprising) in 2000, can be seen in the centre.

MACEDONIA’S WALL

So effective is Macedonia’s wall that migrants have been storming it en masse in an attempt to break it down. These are the scenes some people want to avoid on the U.S.-Mexico border, and to avoid them, they’d rather allow illegal crossings to continue.

But the number of illegal crossings dropped by 90 per cent after Macedonia strengthened its border with Greece, according to figures from the European Union’s own border agency Frontex.

In March of this year, 4,930 people crossed the Greek-Macedonian border illegally, just 10 per cent of the figure for the same month last year. Again, while some of this can be attributed to the decline in crossing attempts, that decline itself was prompted by the erection of the barriers. Migrants stopped attempting to use the route, and thus the “pull factor” was eradicated, when they found out that walls stood in their way.

WALLS AROUND THE WORLD

Kenya, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey have all built walls which have scarcely been referred to as “racist” or “xenophobic” in the same way Mr. Trump, or indeed Mr. Orban or Mr. Netanyahu’s walls have been. There is a double standard for walls around the world.

In 2004 the border fence set to be erected between India and Pakistan was lauded by the liberal New York Times. Their headline read: “India and Pakistan: Good Fences Make Good Neighbors”.

The United Nations itself – a bulwark of the globalist establishment – still enforces a 52-year-old demilitarized zone in Cyprus, complete with barbed-wire fencing, concrete walls, watchtowers, and even minefields.

And Spain, in their African enclaves of Ceuta and Melilla, have strictly enforced border barriers without which anyone could set foot on European Union soil in Africa and claim asylum. Again, the policies of the globalists, via the EU, created a situation within which it was impossible to not have walls.

AMERICA’S WALLS

The idea of walls or fences to keep America safe is not new either. And I’m not talking about the ones around Hillary Clinton’s family home in Chappaqua, which is surrounded by a security fence with a guardhouse, though there is that.

In May, the current chief of the U.S. Border Patrol agency, Ronald Vitiello, said that barriers and walls on the U.S. border do help stop the surging tide of illegal immigration into the United States.

Asked during a Senate subcommittee hearing if barriers worked, he replied: “Barriers, as in physical barriers? … They have been. They have been… Right, so, all of the things we use on the border, physical barriers, fencing as one, technology is a great benefit to us, plus the agencies still have to have that response as well”.

Opposition to the building of walls doesn’t come from any reasonable, rationale, or evidence-based position. It comes from ideology, as is evident from Time magazine’s article entitled: “This is Why Walls Don’t Work”.

It is worthwhile reading if only because you’ll see that it was written specifically for the headline to be “out there” rather than making any legitimate criticisms. The sum total of it, if you don’t have time, amounts to: Walls make us feel safer than they actually make us; 13th Century walls weren’t very good; and people will try and find alternative routes anyway.

Leaving aside the first two risible arguments, the latter is tantamount to saying, “Don’t lock your car door, because people will just smash the window”. The point of border walls is not to make it impossible, but rather, as difficult as possible, for illegal border crossings.

Israel, Macedonia, Spain, Hungary, and other nations around the world have proved this can work. I’m delighted Britain is following in their footsteps. ~~

WALLS AROUND THE WORLD WORK!!     By Raheem Kassam, a Friend of America!

Tonight we get to witness President Trump’s first State of the Union Address, and as of right now there are 5 Democratic Congresspeople that believe that standing behind the country and winning at all cost is more important than the ‘Will’ of the American people! Please remember who these individuals are so that the next time they run for reelection you can send them packing!
