The Citizens United decision is ruining America

The Citizens United decision — along with Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, and Obamacare — is jeopardizing American sovereignty.

President Trump is being more presidential and conservative than the Republican snakes that made those accusations about him during Trump’s run for the Presidency, and that includes both Ryan, and run and hide McConnell! The right man is in the house, and unlike the historical can kickers, will finish what he started and promised to do for the American people. Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell, after the ‘skinny’ version of the repeal and replacement of Obamacare was defeated, declared it was time to move on to tax reform, but President Trump is showing up these cowardly representatives, who promised and ran on getting reelected on the repeal and replacement of Obamacare, but now seems to be only delivering lip service to their constituency knowing that Obama would never have signed a law that would undermine his signature name sake lie of the land known as Obamacare!

The ‘Paid to Report’ Media will never give any credit to anything Trump, but for all of you that missed it, GDP almost doubled to 2.6% in the second quarter, the stock market is hitting new highs on a daily basis, and the agenda journalist keep stonewalling and not reporting on anything that exposes the criminal actions of the continuing and growing corrupt Obama Administration.

I know you’ve heard the old adage asking, is money the root of all evil, or is the love of money the root of all evil, but either way this is the only topic that the ‘swamp’ can get together on an act through a bipartisanship effort to get something done! In 2010 Citizens United was launched, and Hillary Clinton, who later flipped on the issue of its passing, became the most financed non-committed candidate that eventually ran for the Presidency against outsider non-politician Donald J. Trump, and ever since then, because of Citizens United, our elected officials have taken more than a buck or two, and filled their pockets while supporting, politically, anything or anyone who is ponying up the most cash! The narrative of Globalism, open borders, and attempting to adjust the ideology and religious base of America to something that is more ‘worldly’ and less exceptional, is the game that Citizens United has allowed, and only this outsider non-politician President can extricate it from the influence pedaling that’s jeopardizing the continuation of our Constitutional Republic!

We have two political parties that are playing us for fools, and while they pocket big bucks, they are more then willing to sell our sovereignty down the road. Obamacare, to our elected officials is the gift that keeps on giving, and as long as they can, and we allow them to play the guilt trip ‘pity party for the poor card’ and ‘for the American people’ lie, The left will keep spending, and spending illegally and unconstitutionally to drain America’s finances, and add the new debt to America’s already negative $20 Trillion-dollar bottom line!

I’m sure a lot of you don’t know that Obama didn’t obtain the approval of the House to pay out subsides to these Obamacare Insurance Companies, which is the branch that Ok’s all the expenditures and subsidies paid out to cover America’s budget items that are issued by and approved to be paid by the government! The subsidies being paid to these Insurance companies have been a lightning rod for GOP criticism of Obamacare because they were never specifically authorized by Congress, which, under the Constitution, must appropriate all federal funds. House Republicans filed a lawsuit against the Obama White House to halt the payments, saying they were illegal, but the case is still winding its way through federal courts.

As part of budget negotiations earlier this year, Trump pledged to continue the payments to the Obamacare insurance companies through July, but has not made a commitment beyond the end of the month.

Our politicians also get subsides from the government when it comes to healthcare, and they don’t have to take Obamacare, which is completely illegal as their healthcare plan, so continue reading to get a couple of versions of the truth! President Trump tweeted today:

“If a new HealthCare Bill is not approved quickly, BAILOUTS for Insurance Companies and BAILOUTS for Members of Congress will end very soon!”

GETTING BIG MONEY OUT OF POLITICS AND RESTORING DEMOCRACY!

On November 19, 1863, standing on the bloodstained battlefield of Gettysburg, Abraham Lincoln delivered one of the most significant and best remembered speeches in American history. At the conclusion of the Gettysburg Address, Lincoln stated “that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain…that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom…and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”

In the year 2016, with a political campaign finance system that is corrupt and increasingly controlled by billionaires and special interests, I fear that very much, in fact, government of the people, by the people, and for the people is beginning to perish in the United States of America.

We cannot allow that to happen.

Six years ago, as a result of the disastrous Citizens United Supreme Court decision, by a 5-to-4 vote, the U.S. Supreme Court essentially said to the wealthiest people in this country: you already own much of the American economy. Now, we are going to give you the opportunity to purchase the U.S. Government, the White House, the U.S. Senate, the U.S. House, Governors’ seats, legislatures, and State judicial branches as well.

The Citizens United decision hinges on the absurd notion that money is speech, corporations are people, and giving huge piles of undisclosed cash to politicians in exchange for access and influence does not constitute corruption.

During the 2016 campaign cycle, billions of dollars from the wealthiest people in this country flooded the political process. Super PACs – a direct outgrowth of the Citizens United decision – are enabling the wealthiest people and the largest corporations in this country to contribute unlimited amounts of money to campaigns.

The situation has become so absurd that super PACs, which theoretically operate independently of the actual candidates, have more money and more influence over campaigns than the candidates themselves.

Let’s be honest and acknowledge what we are talking about. We are talking about a rapid movement in this country toward a political system in which a handful of very wealthy people and special interests will determine who gets elected or who does not get elected. That is not what this country is supposed to be about. That was not Abraham Lincoln’s vision of a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.

As former President Jimmy Carter recently said, unlimited money in politics, “violates the essence of what made America a great country in its political system. Now, it’s just an oligarchy, with unlimited political bribery being the essence of getting the nominations for president or to elect the president. And the same thing applies to governors and U.S. Senators and congress members. So now we’ve just seen a complete subversion of our political system as a payoff to major contributors, who want and expect and sometimes get favors for themselves after the election’s over.”

The need for real campaign finance reform is not a progressive issue. It is not a conservative issue. It is an American issue. It is an issue that should concern all Americans, regardless of their political point of view, who wish to preserve the essence of the longest standing democracy in the world, a government that represents all of the people and not a handful of powerful and wealthy special interests.

Real campaign finance reform must happen as soon as possible. That is why we must overturn, through a constitutional amendment, the disastrous Citizens United Supreme Court decision as well as the Buckley v. Valeo decision. That is why we need to pass legislation to require wealthy individuals and corporations who make large campaign contributions to disclose where their money is going. More importantly, it is why we need to move toward the public funding of elections.

Our vision for American democracy should be a nation in which all people, regardless of their income, can participate in the political process, can run for office without begging for contributions from the wealthy and the powerful.

Our vision for the future of this country should be one in which candidates are not telling billionaires at special forums what they can do for them.

Our vision for democracy should be one in which candidates are speaking to the vast majority of our people – working people, the middle class, low-income people, the elderly, the children, the sick, and the poor – and discussing with them their ideas as to how we can improve lives for all of the people in this country.

It is essential that we:

Only appoint Supreme Court justices who will make it a priority to overturn Citizens United and who understand that corruption in politics means more than just quid pro quo.

Fight to pass a constitutional amendment making it clear that Congress and the states have the power to regulate money in elections. I have been a proud sponsor and leading champion of such an amendment in the Senate.

Fight for a publicly financed, transparent system of campaign financing that amplifies small donations, along the lines of the Fair Elections Now Act that I have been pleased to co-sponsor, and an effective public financing system for president.

Insist on complete transparency regarding the funding of campaigns, including through disclosure of contributions to outside spending groups, via legislation, action by the Securities and Exchange Commission, Federal Election Commission, and Federal Communication Commission, and an executive order requiring government contractors to disclose their political spending.

Fight to eliminate super PACs and other outside spending abuses.

Work to aggressively enforce campaign finance rules.

Getting big money out of politics is vital, but much more needs to be done to restore our democracy. Notably, we must ensure that all Americans are guaranteed an effective right to vote. Campaign finance reform must be accompanied by efforts to strengthen voting rights – restoring the full protections of the Voting Rights Act, expanding early voting and vote-by-mail, implementing automatic voter registration, ending gerrymandering and making Election Day a national holiday, among others. When nearly two-thirds of the electorate did not vote in 2014 midterm elections, it is clear we need radical change to bring more people into the political system. Our democracy cannot be truly representative unless elected officials hear from all of their constituents, not just the wealthy and the powerful.

Returning to a government of, by, and for the people – not the billionaires and giant corporations – will not be easy. We need not some, but all of the measures highlighted here. This will require agreement of Congress or, in the case of a constitutional amendment, two-thirds of the Congress and three-quarters of the states. We’re going to get there by building a movement – a movement with enough power not only to elect a president but to insist that all of our elected representatives return power to the people, a movement that not only identifies the deep corruption of our politics but rejects cynicism and instead insists on solutions, action and accountability.

I think that President Trump, like Obama, should start wheeling that ‘Pen’ to bring these Republican turncoats back in line, and though Senator McCain has his hands full with personal health issues, doesn’t  mean he’s exempt from the scrutiny that has followed him from his days in Viet Nam to date. I say it’s a dog eat dog swamp, and President Trump should do a little biting back!

THE EXECUTIVE ORDERS THAT END OBAMACARE – ONCE AND FOR ALL!

“Republican Senator John McCain just singlehandedly killed the repeal of Obamacare. Now it’s time for President Trump to act. It’s time for President Trump to expose McCain and the rest of Congress for the frauds and hypocrites they are. It’s time for two Executive Orders that have the power to change everything.

This is how President Trump makes “The House of Cards” collapse. This is how President Trump ends Obamacare once and for all.

Executive Order #1: President Trump should issue an immediate Executive Order forcing every member of Congress to use the same healthcare plan as the rest of us. Let Senator McCain come off his high horse and live under the rules of Obamacare. Make every member of Congress live by same rules as the rest of us.

I wonder if John McCain would have voted against the Obamacare repeal, if he had to live under the rules of Obamacare? I wonder how quick and successful his brain cancer surgery would have been, if he had to use the Obamacare plan. Or the VA system.

Would he have waited 6 months in line, like rest of us? Maybe a year. Of course, he’d probably be dead by then. That’s how the VA solved their money shortage a few years back. They put vets on waiting lists until they died. Problem solved. Why not make Senators wait on those same waiting lists?

Or would McCain have had a gigantic deductible (just like the rest of us)? Would he have had a $30,000 bill after surgery that insurance would not cover (just like the rest of us)?

Would McCain have even been allowed to have a surgery, or would a “Death Panel” advise no surgery for a 80-year-old with advanced brain cancer? Let’s find out.

President Trump should immediately use Executive Order to put every member of Congress in the exact same boat as rest of us. Let them pay for their own healthcare- just like the rest of us. Let’s see each member of Congress pay $2000 per month for health insurance that covers virtually nothing. That was what I was forced to pay after Obamacare passed. That’s what my insurance covered- nothing.

I don’t even have health insurance anymore. I was forced to switch to a Christian Health Sharing plan. Because $2000 per month was completely unaffordable. I’m betting Democrats would call me “rich.” And I could not pay the bill anymore, because of Obamacare. So, I left traditional insurance as of January 1st.

My predicament means no middle-class family in America that buys their own insurance can afford the bill. It’s no wonder an upscale couple jumped to their death in Manhattan on Friday. The 53-yr old husband was a chiropractor. They left behind two children. Their suicide note said they were in a financial death spiral. Thanks to Obamacare, so is every middle-class couple in America.

It’s time for Congress to feel our pain.

Executive Order #2. My gut instinct is usually on the money. I feel it in my bones. The Senators who voted against the repeal are corrupted, bribed, on the take. Senators and Congressmen are making an unimaginable fortune off of Obamacare. That’s why they are against the repeal. They don’t want to end the gravy train.

They want the system complex and expensive. They want government involved. They want taxpayer money wasted by the billions. That’s how they milk the system. They all own stocks of medical companies, health insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies. I’m betting many actually own companies with government contracts that benefit from Obamacare. They put them in the names of their spouses, children, parents, siblings, childhood buddies. They own them in offshore accounts. The conflicts of interest are the size of Texas.

Obamacare is the best thing to ever happen to Senator Schumer, Senator McCain, Senator Collins, Senator Murkowski, Nevada Senator Heller. They’re all bums. They’re all thieves. They are all getting rich at our expense.

Wanna bet?

President Trump should issue an immediate Executive Order demanding disclosure of all financial interests and ownership in healthcare related companies or stock by every member of Congress- including all family members and offshore accounts. Failure to disclose will result in a long prison term.

Then we’ll find out why they voted against repeal. They are all on the gravy train.

Issue these two Presidential Executive Orders and the “House of Cards” will collapse. The scam will be revealed.

P.S. Throw in a third plank. Term Limits. Limit each member of Congress to two terms. One term in office and one term in prison.”
